The proposed dwelling is part of a consolidated area, mostly residential and with a low density of occupancy, forming part of a housing complex.
It is intended that this dwelling be used as local accommodation, and that the concept of the piece of architecture, which is here described, is directly related to the view of occupation of space, that this type of housing use presupposes.
In this way, the proposed building is an inhomogeneous piece, composed of several volumes that form a single body, where the only union is, discreetly, made at the first floor.
The building admits three floors, a basement of parking area for 4 cars, a storage and an engine room; at the ground floor are organized 3 suites and a common area with living room, a storage and a toilet; at the first floor are distributed all the other spaces of the house, namely the kitchen with dining area, a living room, the master suite and a bathroom.
However, and as mentioned above, this piece is subdivided into 4 volumes, which leave voids between them, to ensure the individualization of the spaces whose occupants are rotating.
Formally they are 4 towers, thanks to the retreat and lightness of the elements that connect the volumes, only at first floor’s level, allowing the continuity of the ground as green, open and shared.
These 4 towers are designed white, stripped of ornaments and whose windows, strategically positioned to ensure maximum privacy, are those strictly necessary for each purpose.
This debugging of the facades, intends to extol the crucial element of this project, the nature, since the intention of the owner is to create an Eco House.
Thus, the volumes are part of a set where the vegetation is the premise, being in constant contact with the architecture piece. This relationship exists in all suites, which guarantee an outdoor balcony whose borders are green. These spaces are defined by a metallic structure, which is the support for climbing plants. Throughout the ground floor the waterproof floor is mixed with a 100 ‰ permeable in grass floor, and in each orientation that we look at we always have trees that make up the scenery, since the house is implanted isolated and shrouded in a wooded garden.
In addition, to ensure a ground floor as green as possible, the roofs of the volumes are also green, increasing the natural area and reinforcing the eco concept, differing from the pre-existing urban occupation.
The center of the formal composition is a void, the common patio, where the inhabitants, and their guests, can live outside. It is the space of meeting and conviviality.
The patio is the outer zone less green, or more waterproof, if we prefer. It is, therefore, part of the architectural piece insofar as it is the result of the crossing of the volumes, and subsequent subtraction of the space resulting from this encounter. This becomes a void, full of soul, since it is “embraced” by the four towers.
The structure of the building will be made according to prefabricated models in Light Steel Framing, being a sustainable construction to follow the Eco House concept.
The South, and West, fronts are recessed in relation to the alignment of the buildings of the remaining lots, to guarantee a smooth transition between streets, ensuring continuity between the buildings in the drawer.
This also allows the vegetation, the queen of the architectural concept described here, to gain strength at the entrance to the building, safely marking the concept of green space immediately upon arrival.
It is, therefore, a building resulting from games of volumes and voids, that intersect, and congregate, in a composition where the vegetation is the queen.
